SWITCH POINTS HEATING EOV TRAKCE

The purpose of switch points heating is to remove layers of ice coating and snow, which inhibit continuous and fail-free working of switch points. It is processed by universal heating rods Elektrolux DBAG. These rods are attached to rails or tow bars of switch points and they are supplied by isolating transformers, which are placed in transformer cases TRS. Cases are placed far out of the space of switchpoints.

The device is modularly designed and it is possible to extend the function of system and modify it according to customer’s requests. Whole conception is to minimize requirements for service and maintenance. The arrangement of sensors, which monitor climatic effects, allows the device to work automatically. There are following sensors connected:

  • falls sensor
  • digital thermometer of outdoor temperature
  • digital thermometer of rail temperature
  • snowdrift sensor

The modules of FARCOM system are used for automatic and remote control of EOV-TRAKCE. The controlling module MPM-R controls the process. It also transmits remote commands of mastering computers to the technology. Other FARCOM modules are used for temperature measurement, currents and voltages measurements and for ground fault protection. There is usually connected Hakel HIS500 ground fault protection device to the switch CM-HIS.

System can be controlled, configured and monitored by a computer with a touchscreen, where the needed information is displayed. Controlling unit can be also used to control other electrical equipments (e.g. railway station lights control, buildings heating or reading of energy consumption). There is a RS485 line used to communicate between MPM-R module and remote controlling computer. The usage of RS485 line provides considerable savings in cabling. It is also possible to list through archive of events.
