Already 13 tram crossings in Ostrava have been connected to the central supervision. Among others matters the tram rail-switches heating control was also covered. It is standing alone system, no external control is required. On the other hand the supervisor can take control over. All needed operational data are transmitted back to the supervisor station. The supervising staff is informed about heating progress, about problems with rail-switch direction changing and about trolley wire electricity drop-out. History list of all occured events is also there. The above described system is based upon GPRS network and FARCOM 8DI/8DO modules.
